Yamaha VX 1100 sport hull leak?
Hi,
I'm new to this forum. Hope you ppl will be able to help out of this predicament.So here's the scoop. I have a 2007 Yamaha VX1100F sport jetski. Yesterday I was out on the water for about an hour, when I noticed the jet felt very heavy. So I checked under the seat and saw the water submerged almost half of the engine block! I immediately drained the jet and checked where the water was coming from. After putting it back in the water I noticed the water was literally pouring from the two hinges that fastened the gas tank in place. I have no idea where this water is coming from and have even less of an idea of how to fix it. The hull itself has no cracks or holes.
I took a picture for a better perspective on what I'm talking about.
If it helps, the issue came to be 2-3 engine hours after a complete jet pump exchange. i really hope someone has a fix for this, because I sure am stumped. Thank you for all the replies.

Best thing is to dry it out. Back in the water with the seat off fire it up and watch. Sounds like pump seal and or sealant.

As I mentioned before, I saw the water pouring in through those clamps that hold the gas tank in place. Is this hull double-bottomed? Otherwise I have no idea how the water would get in through the pump seal and under these clamps.

Might be coming in through the grate mounting holes. If the grate was removed during pump replacement could be leaking in from there. If that's the case real easy fix. Just remove the grate and reseal the front mounting bolt holes. While the grate is removed inspect the tunnel for cracks.

I will try it today in the evening. Guess I'll have to go buy some tools, as I am on holiday.

I took the grate off today and nothing seems wrong there. No leaks. Also no cracks in the intake tunnel.
What's next to check?

I like Boobs.
put it on a trailer and fill it to just above the driveline with water, crawl underneath and see where the water is leaking out.

You've got a leaky shoe pump, period.
. if you search back to a user name lilmikey, youll see in one of his threads that i did a full on write up on how to fix this. If you find it, copy and past it in here. Id look, but im in the middle of a few things at the moment. Pretty easy fix, seems daunting, but once you get in there, youll see its pretty straight forward....

Then once you get done with your shoe seal, get a bilge pump and a float switch and wire it sraight to your battery....just like this
